The project is a writer's retreat. It is compact and efficient, ensuring comfort and functionality within a small footprint while seamlessly integrating into Dronninglund Storskov Park.
The layout follows a clear logic, dividing the living spaces into two distinct zones: an open, multifunctional living area and a support core that houses the kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. This organization enhances spatial flow and optimizes the available space, balancing privacy with openness to the surrounding landscape.
Wood is the primary building material, reinforcing sustainability and environmental harmony. The exterior, clad in charred wood, creates a striking contrast against the lightness of the Danish forest, while the interior prioritizes warmth by using oak and plywood panels to enhance thermal comfort and the space’s natural aesthetic.
